Q Adventures #1.

PROJECT PHOENIX.

Hey Q fans! There's SO MUCH in store for the future of Q! I don't even know where to begin except that it all starts HERE. Continue to follow our progress and journey on our blog, Facebook, and instagram, and even our online web store.

2 weekends ago the Social Media department of Q/QT Bloggers took a one day road trip from Los Angeles to Phoenix, Arizona, in order to consolidate with the social media head of their Q branch. Together we are further creating more fun and interactive ways to reach out to our fans and other fashion lovers!

We had such a great time. From the dry/hott/thunderstorm weather, good laughs and singing road trip songs, staying at a hostel, meeting new foreign friends, adventuring out into the mystical nature of Sedona, experiencing the city life of Downtown Phoenix, to meeting fellow Q workers at the Arizona stores for the first time. The bond we shared, business lessons learned, and overall life experiences made our Q Adventure extremely unforgettable!

Here are pics from our trip!

Q Bloggers stayed at the Phoenix Hostel for the opportunity to meet
foreigners and backpackers from all over the world.

With some of our foreign friends we met at the hostel. Intercultural exchange is truly a valuable experience.

Q! Enough said :)

Home Sweet Home! Well...halfway point and 2.5 hours away from home, that is.

Continue to follow our blog for the latest Q Adventures!

XOXO,
QT MARIEL

Style Blogger. Tree Hugger. "Boss".

Our style blogger, Joanne,  is THE BOSS! She is the pro-active "boss" because she is the main founder of the Q blog and created the perfect team to get things rolling. There really isn't anyone better to manage such a darling group of passionate bloggers who are more excited to serve our fans and the fashion community! Joanne is a fourth year college student, majoring in environmental science. Yes, she's an advocate of living green and loves to re-use and recycle. She is a major fan of thrift shopping and making clothes herself! She's been exposed to the fashion industry from a very young age, as her parents are highly involved in the wholesale and retail business.

Joanne has the most absolutely charming personality! When you're around her, you can't help but smile. She may be on the quiet side, but she holds a strong comforting presence...whether it's from the contagious happy and positive aura she gives off, or it's being such a naturally good listener... Joanne is someone you want around! Her humble nature is another reason why she is so respected at Q!

Here's what Joanne has to say for herself,

I would call my style "California Casual and Simply relaxed." I'm the kind of girl you see wearing casual t-shirts, shorts, dresses and sandals and if the weather permits, I'd wear it all the time! Truth be told, I absolutely despise pants. You might say I have a carefree attitude as long as what I'm wearing is comfortable and functional. I love bold prints and daring cutouts in dresses. The dress I'm wearing in the picture above is thrifted (I LOVE THRIFT SHOPPING!). It has tiny unicorn and cats on a space background. I'm definitely a believer of the wearing clothes that expresses the wearer's personality. People often tell me that this dress shown above definitely embodies my personality as it is quirky, bold and fun.

Q Outfits
This dress has a sweetheart neck line and is perfect for fun Valentine's date (even though it's a couple months away). I always carry hair ties around my wrists just in case I need to tie my hair to get some serious marketing work done.

               Anchors Away!
You can never go wrong with black and white. I love wearing stripes and big cardigans. The thin black and white stripes give off an optical illusion. Big cardigans are comfy and can be worn on those cool summer nights that turn into chilly Fall days. Together they combine to make a nautical striped look.
Check out the Criss-cross cut in the back. It shows the right amount of skin in the right places.
Style Tip: Show Skin Strategically! Jen Rade, stylish to Jenna Fischer and Angelina Jolie says
"If it's cleavage, don't show your legs. If it's your legs, stay covered on top."
Choose one body part to show off. Showing the back is a unexpected twist.

NYFW 2013: Our favorite looks

What separates a person who makes clothes from a designer is the ability not only to impress and awe but to inspire, to give the world a glimpse of something new and beautiful. Here are some looks that evoked this wonderful feeling in yours truly, and hopefully will have the same effect on you. :)

Rag & Bone

This is an example of the whole being so much more than the sum of its parts. A minimalist dress, slicked back hair, bright lips -- a perfectly put-together look. Sometimes simple is so much more than it seems.

Prabal Gurung

Who said a dress couldn't be futuristic, modern, and classic all at the same time? Don't try to choose one look. Instead, push the boundaries to incorporate all three.

Proenza Schouler

Not only is something metallic the perfect buffer between the clean white top and strong black leather shoes, but its length, pleats, and mixed fabrics let it steal the show.

Michael Kors

Kors hit the perfect balance between comfort and style in this grey number with the oversized cardigan and thin belt, soft updo and leather platforms, fuzzy and woven materials.

Tory Burch

I like the dress, the cuff is okay, but what really got this outfit on this list is that they were paired with those shoes. Unexpected, but what makes more sense than satin and metallic gold if you think about it? Congrats, Tory Burch, for doing it so well.

NYFW 2013: Trends, Part II

The closing week of New York Fashion Week featured some of our favorite designers -- 3.1 Phillip Lim, The Row, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, and so much more. Here are some of the trends we noticed from their shows!

Minimal Monochrome
Dress down office-y pieces like pencil skirts or blazers with a bright color, minimal make-up and accessories, and strappy heels.

Conservative Twist
Tea length skirts were on numerous designers' runways paired with cool, short tops and a variety of hairstyles.

Edgy and Sheer
A little sheer, a lot of edge -- unique patterns and silhouettes kept the diaphanous material fresh on the catwalks of everyone, including seasoned Fashion Week veterans Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, and Phillip Lim.

Desert Adventures
This spring dress for an adventure -- think of being whisked off on a jet to the infinite desert, a private island, a white sand beach.
